Hindrances and Edges
We set out to really break down each of the ETU: Degrees of Horror Hindrances and Edges, studied the Horror Companion, and the new SWADE to determine the best way to generate Edges and Hindrances for Fresh Blood.
Preston is a better rules guy than I am, so he took the first pass, though we both have gone over them, and then others have as well. As for Hindrances, here is what we came up with: A.D.H.D. (of course), Allergy, Annoying Roommate (remember Barrett?), Anti-Technology Aura, Bad Karma, Haunted, Overprotective Parents, Timid, Townie, Party Animal, and Trouble Magnet. We also included a Sidebar explaining how to use Doubting Thomas in your game with suggestions on how characters with this Hindrance may change over time (if you don’t want to buy off the Hindrance on a level up).

The Edges were a bit more tricky. We had to look at what has been done before, make certain the requirements were correct and then really look at what each Edge could do for the game and their overall effects on it. One that I really wanted is Bloodline. The student is descended from a practitioner of magic such as a Brujuh, witch, or other powerful being. Another is Native in which you grew up in Golan County, Texas and gain +2 on all local history or lore rolls. Of course, if you want to bring your Pinebox Middle School character to college, or want to play a more seasoned hero at the beginning, we have the Pinebox Veteran Edge. Other ETU Edges include Test Taker, Be A Zebra, Ritual Master, Plugged In, and more. As for Weird Edges we have included a few new ones and reworked some old ones. Some of these include Called, Chosen, I See Dead People, Medium, and Spirit Guardian.
For the first time, we are introducing Legendary Edges like All Access, Demon Slayer, Embraced, and Exorcist.
