ETU students fight monsters

Class Notes: Uncomplicated

Although this Class Notes is a day late, I really did finish plot point 8 on Wednesday. Honest I did! Here are the stats:

Plot Points Completed: 8 of 12
Pages:  35 of 42
PP word count:  1,317 of 22,528

There’s not a whole lot to say about this plot point. This one was not a total rewrite, just a retooling. The original version was (again) too complicated and tried to cram in too much back story. This new version has a new plot catalyst (I’ve learned my lesson!) and a more straightforward goal. If the last plot point was a mystery to be solved, this adventure is a quest to achieve. It features a small cast and few locations, focusing instead on building tension. Since this is a horror game, clearly we all know the hammer is going to fall. It’s really not a question of if so much as when and how. As the GM, this adventure gives you the framework to take the characters out of their comfort zone, ratchet up the tension, then give them that final push. Oh, it also pushes the overall plot arc forward.

And that’s really all there is to say about that. The next plot point is a total rewrite. I feel like I’ve got a pretty decent outline though, so if anything my problem will be keeping the word count from ballooning out of control…again. That being said, I’m taking a family vacation late next week. If I don’t get done by Wednesday then it won’t be done until the following week.

As a final reminder, if there’s a place or Pinebox character you’d like to learn more about please let me know. I’m always looking for suggestions for the Campus Tour posts.
