Howdy all. This is my first article in a while and I would like to tell ya’ll what we have been up to at 12 to Midnight, give ya’ll a progress report, and most importantly say a great big Texas “THANK YA!†to all of you who have bought our adventures and for your wonderful feedback.
I’ve been asked a few times why we are doing this. Is it the money? Well, yes (duh!), but there is much more to it. I get very excited to hear that other folks are buying my work, enjoying it and making it part of their homegames. Roleplaying is a social thing. Its really a form of a party amongst the best of friends who sit around together, make small talk, tell jokes, enjoy each other’s company, and use their intelligences and imaginations to the utmost extremes. I love it! I’ve done it since 1979. I really love it! I don’t play nearly enough to satisfy my cravings, as in the past few years I’ve moved waaaay out in the country of Texas heartland, but I still thrill to sit and play with Glen, Prest0, Lance, and Edison as often as possible.
So, I’d like to take a few lines to thank everyone whose purchased or played one of our games. We’ve been reviewed by several top sites and they have all been good, but I get the most satisfaction from the customers who have bought our products then gave us comments on RPGnow. So I’d like to thank the following customers for their support and kind comments: Landon Gregory, Bruce Baugh, Dan Friedman, Stephen Phipps, Jim Stryker, Darren Miller, Dwayne Agin (2 comments), Bill Littlefield, Gregory Dyke (2 comments), Robert Freeborn, Luke Swadling, Charles Baize, Dale Hawley, and Tom Wisniewski.
These awesome customers all gave us either a 4 or 5 star rating for an average score of 4.9 of 5.0!!! That Rocks! Some of their comments really mean a lot to me as well, such as Charles Baize’s critique of Weekend Warriors; “All-in-all, it seems to be a fun…rompin’ stompin’ zombie bashin’ adventure.â€
I’d love to see more comments, so let us know what you think.
Man, when you receive this kind of response from your customers, you know you’re doing something right. So far we have not received any bad reviews from the professionals or the customers. That is AWESOME!!! Our goal has been to bring great gaming fun to modern horror and to create professional quality adventures. Reading these responses makes me believe we are on the right track. To those of you who left these comments on RPGNow, know that we do read them and they truly are appreciated! Thanks to all! Word of mouth is the best kind of advertising we can get.
So what’s next? Well, we are finishing the greatest of our efforts to date…Bloodlines. This adventure rocks! It is really a mini-campaign full of crunchy bits that will be the highlight of your adventuring crew’s year in horror gaming! I mean that. It is well over 110 pages with plenty of maps and player handouts. As always, we will include a printer-friendly version, too.
Heh. We’ve come up with a new in house slogan that we laugh about, but only because it’s true: “We’ve given em so much already, why stop now?!†We want to be the company you think of when you think of horror gaming products. Period. (Yeah I know, but let me dream big!)
Now for the bad news…we will definitely miss our end of March deadline–but look for it in early April.
Now for some good news…the cover art was done by Anneth Legamo (same illustrator who did Last Rites cover), and we have included some fantastic interior art by an artist that will soon be famous, Obsidian. Look for a preview of the cover on our site’s front page.
We are also working on something big for our friend Shane, and if he approves the work I think you Savage World folks will love it! Innana’s Kiss is finished, both for d20 and Savage Worlds (again, depends on Shane), and we should have both out in May. I’m busy with Last Rites Part II: Oh Mummy! (heh, just a working title, but it cracks me up).
So there ya have it. Thanks folks and stay tuned. The horror has only just begun!
