About Fabled Environments
Fabled Environments is a cartography studio specializing in modern floor plans and diagrams for RPGs. The studio is the creation of Charles and Krista White, and is a proud imprint of 12 to Midnight. Both Charles and Krista are available for interview by e-mail, phone, or Skype, and review copies of Fabled Environments titles are available upon request. Contact us for more information. Links to past interviews and press releases are at the bottom of this page.
Charles White
Charles White has been involved with gaming ever since a high school friend brought a copy of the expert set of Dungeons and Dragons to school one day. Twenty years later, Charles still games on a regular basis and runs a game on occasion. Definitely not the typical gamer, Charles is a seminary graduate and holds two masters degrees, one with a focus in American Church History and the other, an advanced masters, in the area of American Religion and Culture.
Krista White
Krista White is not your typical creator of gaming supplements. In fact, she has never gamed in her life. However, one fateful day over ten years ago she met a bright-eyed handsome gamer and her life was never the same. Krista is an experienced architectural drafter who has worked on many real world projects. In addition, she has a degree in interior design and is a painter, sculptor, and all around crafty kind of gal.
Fabled Environments Maps
As they opened the door and entered the main worship space, Jacob and Tim thought they saw a figure seated in a pew at the rear of the church. “Jacob, Jacob, Jacob,” the figure scolded as he rose from the pew and stood in the main aisle. “You’re like a cockroach. You just won’t die. And look you’ve multiplied.” As the figure took a step forward down the aisle, his features were illuminated by a pool of light. The man was short; no more than five feet tall. He wore wire rimmed glasses, a white shirt and kaki pants. The patches of gray interspersed in his brown hair indicated that he was at least middle age. Everything about this man was unassuming and non-threatening. Everything, that is, except for the man’s large mangled left arm that ended in a three-pronged claw.
Where do you go from here? To the battle map, of course! If you need a map of a modern structure, you need Modern Floorplans. The Modern Floorplans series from Fabled Environments and 12 to Midnight offers gamers high quality maps in a variety of configurations:
- Want to draw it out yourself? Use the 8.5×11 map as a guide.
- Want to simply drop the map on the table and play? Use either the 24×36 full map (if you have access to a plotter printer) or print the tiled version on regular paper and assemble a full-size version yourself in a matter of minutes. Both versions are scaled at 1 inch equals 5 feet.
- In addition, each floorplan also comes in versions without room labels and without furniture.
Fabled Environments maps are designed for gamers by gamers. All maps are conceptualized and designed by an interior designer and architectural drafter, and can be used with any RPG system. Please note that all floorplans are rendered in black and white.
