Modern Floorplans: Mobile Homes

-August 23rd, 2009

Modern Floorplans: Mobile HomesSo the next game in your modern campaign is coming up pretty soon. Got your maps lined up? You’ve got the mansion for the big boss, you’ve got the diner for the information drop. How about the mobile home for the safe house? You don’t? Well that’s okay, because the ENnie-nominated Fabled Environments has you covered. Their latest floorplan pack features two styles of mobile homes (aka “trailer houses”). The 2 bed / 2 bath single-wide floorplan would make a great layout for a nondescript safe house or hostage standoff site. The 3 bed / 2 bath double-wide trailer features an office with closet, making it a great layout for down-on-their-luck NPCs working from home or even an underground gambling house.
Go ahead and pick up a copy today. Why put it off? At only $1.99, it’s not getting any cheaper! It’s already cheaper than a movie. It’s cheaper than any game book at your table. Heck, it’s cheaper than a set of dice! Get your Modern Floorplans today!

Buried Tales of Pinebox, Texas; has been out for just over two months now and is starting to get some great reviews. A few highlights include:

Tood Cash at FlamesRising.com

“Diving into these stories felt like a mix between the stories I read in old comic titles like The House of Mystery and The Vault of Horror. A short set-up with a handful of characters, an environment in something Man Knows Isn’t Right, and a twisty, usually gruesome ending makes up the bulk of these short stories. They make for the perfect campfire stories.”

Bill Bodden at Xenagia.net:

“Buried Tales of Pinebox, Texas is a very solid collection of horror tales; Editor Matt McElroy has put together a strong slate of writers to chill our hearts. One doesn’t have to be a gamer to appreciate them or enjoy the shivers they send up the reader’s spine. If you’re like me, what the stories will do is inspire you to learn more about the setting, hoping to discover additional such interesting tidbits to read.”

Jeff LaSala at Examiner.com:

“Each short story offers one disturbing little slice of this fictitious rural town in eastern Texas—the whole of which is reminiscent of the creepiest aspects of The Blair Witch Project and the X-Files, with a dash or two of good ol’ small-town Lovecraftian horror thrown in.”

A special thanks to Tood, Bill and Jeff for those great reviews. Always appreciated. If you are thinking of writing a review, shoot us an e-mail when it gets posted online and we’ll be happy to add it to the Buried Tales website.

ENnnies Voting is Open

-July 24th, 2009

Howdy everyone! The voting booth is now open for the 2009 ENnie Awards. We are really excited that Fabled Environments has been nominated for the second year in a row in the category of Best Cartography. Their Victorian-style Mansion is a wonderful map. (I could only dream of living in a house like that!) Please take a couple minutes to head to the voting booth and cast your ballet. Unlike the Origins awards, the ENnie is a fan-driven award. Make your likes and dislikes heard!

Congratulations to our very own Charles and Krista White of Fabled Environments, on their second ENnie Nomination in a row. Their Victorian Style Mansion has made the short list for Best Cartography. Voting doesn’t open until July 24, but in the meantime Fabled Environments deserves a virtual pat on the back. Great job, and congratulations!
